What is unique about this retreat?
Today’s society catapults us forward, converting us into “do-ers” and leaving little time to “be”, to engage in reflection and self-care. We need quiet time to return to our center to recharge and rebalance. We also need time to share with others what’s on our hearts and minds, to see ourselves reflected in their struggles, to feel truly heard, and to open ourselves to the great mystery that we can’t see but can feel.
For more than 15 years, Family Constellations have been a regular weekend activity in Perunea House. With this summer’s week-long retreat, we want to create a space where the Family Constellations will be the core but complemented by both quiet time and group activities, such as easy walks in the Aralar mountains, swimming in the nearby river, and tasty vegan meals made with our home-grown vegetables. Family Constellations will be run daily (in the house and outdoors), along with other activities to work on difficulties, negative repetitions, painful night dreams, traumas, and attitudes and behaviors that prevent growth and evolution. To this end, we will also work on the classical Orders of Love as well as on the Orders of Unity (healthy sexuality, ethics, and being one with All).
Our approach to constellations is based on Hellinger’s teachings and our experience and is rooted in Basque traditions. Perunea House is a traditional 16th century Basque caserío and fully remodeled in 2006. The house works as a mother for the constellations, helping channel and sustain the healing energy. Participants often comment that their experience here is more profound than in urban contexts.
Additionally, in our valley, there are Paleolithic remains, which include dolmens, as well as places where medicine women and men carried out rituals in the Middle Ages. The energy that can be felt in these places is unique and one that we would like to share with the retreat participants, thus we will run some constellations outdoors in these special locations.
We also plan to run some Constellations in nearby forests to connect more closely with Nature, its elements, and with each other.
How will the days be structured?
The retreat includes yoga and meditation in the mornings, group family constellations in the mornings or afternoons (depending on the day), presentations, sharing circles, easy walks in the forest, ritual offerings to the spirits, and full room and board, which includes three vegan meals per day. There will be opportunities for participants to work on personal and family healing and down-time for self-care. Each participant decides what activities they would like to be involved in.
Where will the retreat be held?
Perunea House is in Gaintza, Navarre, a small town nestled in the beautiful Aralar mountains, which have hosted generations of Basque medicine women and men and have witnessed ancient rituals including Akelarres or ritual witches reunions, which could be interpreted as an ancient form of Family Constellations. Participants arrange their own transportation to Gaintza, and we can guide you if you need help.
For whom is this retreat?
The retreat is open to any World citizen and is offered primarily in English, but we also speak Basque, Spanish, and some French, and we welcome first and second language speakers of any of these languages. Whether you are new to Family Constellations or have years of experience, this retreat will give you insights and help you continue your path toward healing or helping others to do so.
What is the cost?
Price for the whole week, 690€ full room and board & all activities
Price for fewer days, 110€ per day
